Having trouble with your HVAC?
What to check for when AC or heat pump is not working:
- Dirty filter
- Power on at furnace and breaker panel
- Power on to AC at breaker panel
- AC or H/P disconnect blade switch in the “up” position in the disconnect box
- Thermostat in cool position and set point is below temperature in the house
What to check for when furnace or air handler is not working:
- Dirty filter
- Gas is turned on if gas furnace – red handle is parallel to gas pipe
- Power on at furnace or air handler and breaker panel
- Thermostat in heat position and set point is above temperature in the house
What to do to balance out airflow in a home:
- Make sure filter is clean
- Run furnace or air handler fan in “on” position
- Shut down registers in basement and first floor to push more air upstairs on two stories
